In spring 2010, the Gardening club built 8 planting boxes and tilled three long rows at Webutuck High School. We planted tomatoes, eggplant, beets, carrots, basil, calendula, corn, beans, melons and much more!
By midsummer the boxes were overflowing with veggies, which we cooked and ate, and gave to the Amenia Food Pantry.
In 2011 we hope to build 10 more boxes!

The Marathon Project starts in the spring. Even non-runners will soon be ready for
a 5K race, and if you want, even train for a marathon.

Circus arts is just one of the great clubs we have every year. Have an idea for a new club? Let us know!

For students in grades 7-8, NECC offers after-school clubs for fun, enrichment, fitness, and learning. Recent offerings have included cooking, wilderness camping and hiking, improvisational drama, circus arts, pottery, community service, the Marathon Project (training for local races and the Hartford Marathon and Half-marathon) woodworking, and art, as well as the Teen Team - a chance to decide what YOU want to do and plan your own project.
Clubs meet in the EBIS cafeteria starting right after-school and ending in time for the 3:15 bus. Students are welcome to stay until 5 and work on homework, play games, and much more - it's a great, safe place to be after school.
