NED Corps School-To-Work

The NECC is working with the Berkshire Taconic Foundation to invest in educational programming designed to support young adults’ successful transition from school to work, increased employability and improve their earning potential. NECC will set up trade apprenticeships (electric, plumbing, contracting, IT, farming, home inspection, etc), or certifications for students (arborist, landscape/gardening, ServSafe food handling etc) and adult educational courses related to career development (Culinary school, Dutchess Community College).

The program is meant for junior and senior high school participants through Webutuck, Dover Plains, Pine Plains, Millbrook Public Schools

We have also engaged with other youth partnering agencies to develop the NE Dutchess Coalition for Youth Success to engage multiple agencies, non-profit organizations, faith-based organizations and others who may support School-to-Work and general teen opportunities in the northeastern quadrant of Dutchess County. By providing a structured on-going opportunity for conversation and collaboration building, the benefits to local youth and teens will be maximized.
