2025 Adopt-a-Family Program
The beloved Adopt-A-Family Program, now administered by NECC, helps to ensure that local families have what they need during the upcoming holiday season. With rising food prices and housing costs in our area, many families are facing a challenging winter.
To Sign Up to Receive Gifts:
Email jessica@neccmillerton.org by Dec. 1 to register as a recipient family.
To Donate Money:
Monetary donations are an important part of this program! They help us fill in gaps in wish lists and to provide gift cards. We need to raise $5,000 by Dec. 15 to be sure we can fully fund the program.

FAQ about Sponsoring a Family:
How do I get started?
Fill out the sponsor form to indicate how many children you would like to shop for. Based on information you provide on the sponsor form, you will be emailed or telephoned with the details about the families you adopt so you can shop for them (we will provide this information to you by Thanksgiving).
What should I buy?
For each child, please buy two to three new gifts (suggested range of $30-$50 per gift). We will also include requests for warm clothing. It is not mandatory, but if you are able to provide clothing items in addition to the gifts it is appreciated.
What if I want to buy a gift for the parent or family unit?
Our program focuses on children. If you are interested in providing an additional gift for the whole family, please let us know and we can discuss family needs or consider a gift card to a local grocery store.
Should the gifts be wrapped or unwrapped?
Many parents appreciate unwrapped gifts so they can see what has been given. It is also difficult to keep the wrapped gifts in good condition as they are transported. It would be great to include wrapping paper in your donation for families to wrap after pick up.
How do I package the gifts?
Place them in heavy duty garbage bags so they stay intact when transported to NECC and then taken home by the family. Securely label each bag with the Family ID # and/or Family Name.
When do I need to drop off gifts?
Please choose a date and time when you register for the program. We will not accept gifts after Friday, December 12th.
Can I meet the family I am helping or hand-deliver the gifts?
No, we do not offer this option as we keep client information confidential.
